[ W H A T    I S    I C O N    T O U R N A M E N T ? ]

Welcome to icon_tournament! This is a LIMSxBattle crossover community that employs the use of one-on-one battles, as well as eliminations throughout the course of the rounds. It was founded by adaneko and co-founded by kanrinin and nyaabo. Moderated by kanrinin and nyaabo and now astrokittie and snm_queen, this community is set out to become one of the fastest-paced icontests centered on anime, manga, and video game icons.



[ A V A T A R S ]

Each participant will be choosing an anime, manga, or video game character of their choice to represent them in the tournament, so as to keep information private. Also, all comments are screened by default to preserve anonymity. The participants' usernames will be announced if they lose their challenge, withdraw from the round, or if they win the tournament.



[ P R E L I M I N A R I E S    +    C H A L L E N G E S ]

For every new round, there will be the preliminaries and 4 challenges. Each round will last for 5 weeks.

PRELIMINARIES
Lasting for one week, this challenge determines who will get into the actual battle. There is no limit to sign-ups. The theme for this challenge will always be Provided Image, and the voting will be set like in a normal icontest. (All icons in one table, vote only for favourites.)

CHALLENGES
There will be a total of 4 normal challenges throughout the round. These challenges will alternate between Theme and Provided Image. At voting, participants will be paired up with each other (pairs are determined by number of points gained during prelims), and the participant who wins their respective battle will move on to the next round. This continues until the final round.



[ S U B M I S S I O N ]

Submission will be open once the challenge is posted, and will end when voting ends. (Friday at 10PM Central Standard Time)

1. You must be a member to participate. It doesn't count if you're only watching the community. Also, members must sign-up for the round at its respective post before the preliminary challenge has been posted in order to submit to the challenges.

2. Icons should be no bigger than 100x100 pixels/40kb. Must be in .gif, .jpg., or .png format.

3. Icons must feature something from either anime, manga or videogames ONLY. Also remember to keep your icon tasteful. (ie. no yaoi, yuri, hentai, obscene language)

4. No fanart/cosplay/doujinshi images may be used! OFFICIAL ART AND SCREENSHOTS ONLY.

5. Icons must be new and made only for the tournament.

6. Copying will not be tolerated. In other words, you will be disqualified if you blatantly copy tutorials and/or other icons.

7. Icons must be uploaded onto a server that allows hot-linking. (ie. Photobucket) Do NOT upload onto your LJ picture album or Userpic space.

8. Do not advertise your icon before/during the contest! If you do you will be disqualified. "Advertising" includes but is not limited to posting your icon for others to see before the contest is over, showing another which your icon is to get their vote, using the icon before the results are announced, etc.

9. Cheating will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to, voting for yourself, creating clone accounts to vote for yourself, and specifically getting your friends to vote for your icon.

10. Cross-participation is NOT allowed.

11. If you make a new icon you'd rather have in the contest, you may resubmit your icon any time before deadline as long as you make a new comment on the submission post letting us know.

12. Skips are not allowed.

13. Make sure you're submitting your icon to the correct post. Please enter your icon in the following format:

[ V O T I N G    +    R E S U L T S ]

Voting for icons will open on Friday @ 10PM Central Standard Time and close on the following Sunday @ 8PM CST. Results will be posted shortly after voting has closed. Vote in accordance to the outline provided on the voting post. There will always be forms for voters to copy+paste from. PLEASE USE THE PROVIDED FORMS. Participants who want to vote will be excused from voting in their own battle.

Comments are optional, but votes with critiques will be worth twice as much as votes without critiques. All votes will be screened and kept anonymous.

Again, results will be posted on Sunday @ 8 PM CST. The icon that receives the most points will be recognized on the results post. Participants that want any comments about their icons from the voting post may ask for them when results are posted.



[ P R I Z E S ]

There will be no prizes for the winners of this tournament. However, winners will receive banners from snm_queen if they like.
